NYC trip with Kristina
My work travels took me to New York again this week. It was also Kristina’s birthday so she came with me and we spent Wednesday through Saturday in Manhattan. She worked from her NYC office and I spent most of
My time on sites getting restaurants ready to open but we were able to get out together in the evenings and see the city together.
We got in Wednesday late and as we were walking from the subway to our hotel we bumped into Doug Brasher. The Brasher’s were in town for the marathon the previous weekend and had spent the week there with family. We happened upon each other on thier last night there. We got a bite to eat together at Shake Shack, chatted for about an hour and since they lived in NY for a while we got great recommendations and places and restaurants.
Thursday night we went to Seraphinas saw Hamilton and got gelato afterwards. Also our hotel had a great view of the city.
Friday we saw lion king and had dinner at Liberty where I had probably the best burger I’ve ever eaten.
Saturday I woke up with excruciating pain in my lower back. I must have slept crooked or something but I couldn’t roll over, sit up or move around for over an hour. Once I got standing up the pain started to subside so we went for a walk. We visited the hi-line and little island then got lunch at Lombardis and visited a rice pudding shop, Rice to Riches, where we enjoyed a delightful experience with rice pudding deserts.
We got back home Saturday night. I debated staying through the weekend for work, but decided it was best to be home for a couple days and come back on Tuesday.
Nicole finalized her divorce this week and got a new position at work with a handsome salary increase.
